Researchers believed that positive emotions were an indicator of well-being for the individual as well as higher levels of satisfaction. Researchers are a bit divided regarding this issue. There have been studies that have proven that the pressure to smile can boost your mood. It can be a boost to your performance. In contrast other studies have proven that “faking” a smile while it may make people feel happier, is likely to make you feel in a bad mood. An alternative is to focus on things that make you truly content, and let your smile (and its associated positive effects) come naturally!
